Baseball games rescheduled Friday; Ryan Lemmon Tourney begins Saturday

Several Orange County high school baseball games scheduled for Thursday have been moved to Friday because of rain and wet field conditions and the 32-team Ryan Lemmon Invitational is scheduled to open on Saturday, April 1.

Weather and field conditions will have a bearing on whether the games will be played.

Makeup games:

—Fullerton will host Sunny Hills Friday at 3:15 p.m. in a Freeway League game. The game scheduled for Thursday was postponed due to rain. The teams will also play Saturday at 11 a.m. at Sunny Hills. Fullerton’s game with El Rancho will be rescheduled later.

—Corona del Mar will host Fountain Valley Friday at 3:15 p.m.

—The VIlla Park vs. Foothill Crestview League game scheduled for Thursday has been postponed and will be made up Saturday at 10 a.m. at Villa Park.

—-Estancia will host Costa Mesa in the second game of the Orange Coast League schedule Friday at 3:30 p.m. The game was originally scheduled for Thursday at Angel Stadium. Estancia won the opener of the series, 10-5 on Tuesday.

—Irvine and Northwood will play a Pacific Coast League doubleheader Friday at Irvine with the first game starting at 1:30 p.m., according to Vaquero Coach Gabriel Cota. Second game is scheduled for approximately 3:30 p.m.

—Villa Park and Pacifica will play in the championship game of the Loara Tournament Friday at 3 p.m. Senior righthander AJ Kroedel is the scheduled starter for Villa Park.

—Cypress and Ayala will play Friday at 11 a.m. at JSerra.

—Santa Ana High School’s baseball team will be playing Calvary Chapel Friday at 4 p.m. at the Great Park in an Orange Coast League game.

—The Ryan Lemmon Foundation will be hosting the Ryan Lemmon Invitational with games starting Saturday morning. All the games are on, but four games scheduled for field nine at the Great Park will instead be played at Ryan Lemmon Stadium due to field conditions, according to tournament director Dick Owens. The championship will be held on Wednesday, April 5. El Modena, which won the tournament last year, is back to defend its title.
