It’s the second game of league basketball for Orange County high school boys teams Friday night and OC Sports Zone will be providing updates and game coverage.

Among the games coming up:

—Crosstown rivals Godinez and Segerstrom meet in a 7:15 p.m. Golden West League game at Segerstrom.

Coach Brandon Rogers Segerstrom team (5-13 overall) struggled in the non-league portion of its schedule but it’s all about league now and the Jaguars opened league play Tuesday with a 53-31 victory over Western.

Godinez, coached by Greg Coombs, is 11-7 overall and lost its opener to Garden Grove 66-43. The Grizzlies will need a big night from their junior guard Andrew Valdez to defeat the Jaguars.

It’s a crosstown game, so this one should be exciting and intense and attract a big crowd.

—-Cypress High’s boys basketball team has its first league home game Friday night, hosting Pacifica at 6 p.m. in an Empire League game. Cypress is 12-5 overall and opened league play Tuesday with a 49-34 victory over Tustin on the road. The Centurions are out to win their third consecutive Empire League title.

–Pacific Coast League favorite Beckman heads to Woodbridge to meet the Warriors Friday night at 7. Both teams won their league opener on Tuesday night. Beckman is 9-10 overall while Woodbridge is 3-14. It will be the annual alumni night for Woodbridge.

—Sea View League favorite Tesoro (15-3) takes on El Toro (12-4) in its second league game. The Titans opened league play Tuesday with a 46-32 victory over Dana Hills at home.

On Saturday, there are four more games at Pacifica Christian. Please click here for details.
