La Jolla Country Day defeated Fairmont Prep 73-62 Saturday night in the CIF Division III Southern California Regional at Fairmont Prep to advance into Tuesday’s finals.
The So Cal final will be played Tuesday at the site of the highest seeded team.
No. 4-seeded Fairmont Prep of Anaheim (27-7) advanced to the semifinals with its fourth victory of the season against Pacific Christian in the second round Thursday night. The Fairmont Prep gymnasium was filled for that game. La Jolla Country Day is the No. 8 seed. (Please click here for a story and photos from that game)
Huskies coach Joedy Gardner said he doesn’t expect as big of a crowd Saturday night because La Jolla’s girls team is also playing in the regionals. The Fairmont Prep gymnasium has just one side of bleachers.
