University won its CIF Division 4 quarterfinal soccer match over Santa Paula, 2-0 Tuesday at home.
The Trojans scored once in each half. Rayan Heyati slipped a shot into the left corner of the net for his eighth goal of the season off a pass across the goalmouth from Jake Rabold in the 18th minute to open the scoring.
Early in the second half, Miguel Campos turned a Santa Paula turnover into an assist on a Pavlos Mikhael goal for the final margin. Midway through the second half, Trojan goalkeeper Lucca Clouthier made a pair of spectacular saves en route to his fifth shutout of the season.
Santa Paula finished the season with a 14-6-1 record. University (13-5-1) will play Pacifica of Oxnard (17-4-3) in a semifinal match Saturday at 5 p.m. in Oxnard.
