Portola High School senior Kara Niho joined the 1,000-point career club during the team’s 51-34 victory over Warren Saturday night.
In a game before, Niho tied the school record with 11 three-pointers while shooting 46 percent from the three-point range.
“Kara becomes the fifth Portola Bulldog to reach this milestone,” said Portola Coach Brian Barham. “Earlier in her career, during her sophomore year, she hit 10 three-pointers in a game against Cypress.”
Portola (18-10 overall) finished fourth in the Pacific Coast League with a 3-5 record. The Bulldogs are hoping for an at-large berth in the CIF playoffs. Pairings will be announced Saturday.
