Woodbridge High School lineman Alijah Bray, who signed Wednesday to continue his football career at Weber State University, has a very promising future, says his coach, former Woodbridge Coach Aaron Craver.

Craver described Bray as one of the most talented and gifted athletes he’s coached and said his hard work and dedication contributed to getting a chance to play college football.

“When you’re 6-7 as an offensive lineman and you’re a great student, that is a recipe for success,” Craver said Wednesday at a program Wednesday in the school’s performing arts center. “You can’t ask for a better kid, he has made huge improvements.”

In fact, Craver said that if Bray, who also played on the defensive line, continues to develop and keeps working hard, “you might see him playing on Sundays.”

Bray, who earned first team all-league honors as a junior, was supported by family and Woodbridge teammates during the event.

“I wanted to go a place that was close to home on the West Coast, close to my family so my mom and my dad could come and watch the games,” Bray said. “When I went up to the campus, it was a great environment for me and I feel like I really fit in there.”

Bray also considered offers from Eastern Washington and Sacramento State.

As for Craver’s thoughts on a possible NFL career, Bray said he was “happy, but we will see what happens … “

Bray said he plans to major in business at Weber State.

Shortly after the program ended, Bray was congratulated by his Woodbridge teammates outside the performing arts center.
