ESTANCIA 4, ANAHEIM 1: Estancia (7-1) was led by junior Andrew Mits who pitched a complete game, allowing one earned run and six hits in a non-league game Friday. He struck out eight.
Cole Lefebvre was 2 for 3 with a run scored, John Uchytil was 2 for 3 with an RBI and two triples,
Gabe Avila was 1 for 2 with a run scored and a double and Sawyer Atkinson was 2 for 2 with a run scored, two RBI and two doubles to lead the Eagles’ offensive attack, according to Coach Nate Goellrich.
Estancia scored runs in the bottom of the sixth inning for the comeback win. It was a rematch of the 2022 CIF Division IV championship game which Estancia won 2-1 in 11 innings.
Estancia hosts St. Margaret’s Tuesday in the Orange Coast League opener at 3:30 p.m.
VILLA PARK 2, ESPERANZA 0: Brandon Luu (2-0) pitched a complete game for the Spartans. He allowed three hits and struck out 10. Gavin Grahovac was 1 for 3 with a run scored, AJ Krodel was 2 for 3 and Zach Brown 1 for 1 with an RBI.
FULLERTON 13, SAN JUAN HILLS 6: The Tribe (5-1) was led by Zach Fany, who was 2 for 4 with two runs scored and a walk. Nate Norman was 1 for 2 with two runs scored, two walks and an RBI and Malachi Meni was 2 for 4 with four RBI, a double and two runs scored.
COSTA MESA 15, GODINEZ 2: Sam Stute (1-0) was the winning pitcher. He struck out three in three innings and was also 2 for 3 with three runs scored and three RBI. Wylan Rottschafter was 2 for 3 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI, Michael Joyce was 2 for 3 with three runs scored, Matt Anderson was 2 for 2 with a double and two RBI, Caleb Robeck was 1 for 3 with a double and two RBI and Aiden Comte was 2 for 3 with an RBI for Costa Mesa (7-0).
SERVITE 8, SAN DIMAS 3: The Friars (3-2) were led by Valentine Lopez, who pitched the first five innings, allowing three hits and striking out three. Roman Martin had four RBI and two home runs. Jonathan Rodriguez was 2 for 3 and Nicholas Rossetti 2 for 4.
UNIVERSITY 2, LAGUNA HILLS 1 (10 innings): The Trojans earned a Pacific Coast League victory Thursday at Laguna Hills. Austin Barnett and Logan Rome had outstanding efforts on the mound to lead the Trojans. Rome, on his birthday, did not allow a hit in four innings. Shortstop Luke Weston had a big diving defensive play to preserve the win for Uni (4-1-1, 1-1-1).
University hosts Sage Hill Saturday at noon.
