Portola football coach Peter Abe was re-united recently with his former coach at Irvine, Terry Henigan, during a retirement ceremony for former University Coach Mark Cunningham.
Abe, who played at Irvine under Henigan, is preparing his team for the first varsity football game on Aug. 17.
Abe competed in football and track at Irvine from 1997 to 2001 and was a member of the Vaqueros CIF championship team in 2000.
Henigan is now retired and living in Palm Desert.
