CVC, Northwood and San Juan Hills earn high rankings in CIF boys basketball polls

The first CIF boys basketball polls are out and Capistrano Valley Christian, San Juan Hills and Northwood, all off to fast starts, are ranked No. 2 in their divisions.

Mater Dei is ranked fifth, Santa Margarita 12th and Crean Lutheran 13th in Division 1.

Tesoro, off to an 8-0 start, is ranked fourth in 2A. La Quinta is third in the 5AA division, Santa Ana is fourth in the 5AA division. Tustin is fifth in 3AA.

The first open division list will be published on Jan. 10, CIF officials said.
