Western captured its first CIF football title, defeating Peninsula 49-21 in the Diviison 11 title game Friday night at Western.

Western began the game with a 98-yard kickoff return by Cassius Savage. Then Western recovered the onside kick and went ahead 14-0 on a 21-yard TD run by Jacob Domino.

The Pioneers enter the game with an 11-2 record while Peninsula is 9-4.

In Brea, San Gorgonio kept up with their momentum and defeated Brea Olinda 21-17 to claim the CIF-SS Division 9 title.
