Supported by family, friends and coaches, Western High School’s standout defensive back and wide receiver Drew Faulkner signed his national letter of intent to play football for University of Idaho on Wednesday on campus.
As a receiver this past season, the 5-10, 175-pound Faulkner had 105 catches for 1,433 yards and eight touchdowns. On defense, he had two interceptions and 41 tackles.
Faulkner was named Orange League MVP for the second year in a row.

“Drew was a leader on and off the field,” said Western Coach Dan Davidson. “If it was in the weight room, at practice or game night Drew would always show us the way with his determination and trusting the process.
“It was very special to have Drew with us these past three years. His work ethic and desire to succeed could be felt everyday.”
Davidson said Faulkner was an outstanding teammate.
“From a young man getting so much attention these past few years, Drew was always so supportive to all of his teammates and would help and encourage them to reach their highest level of play,” he said.
