University High School’s boys basketball team wrapped up the Rumble on the Hill Tournament Saturday with a 70-30 victory over South Gate.
The Trojans (2-3) forced 46 turnovers to defeat South Gate (1-4).
The Trojans had 30 steals and were led by sophomore point guard Connor Cao with a career-high 23 points to go along with three assists and four steals.
Junior center Abdallah Shami had his third successive double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds (eight offensive) adding five steals, four assists and two blocks.
Senior center Kaden Moss contributed eight points and four offensive rebounds off the bench. Junior reserve point guard Javin Pelayo pitched in with eight points, three assists and three steals.
Senior swingman Victor Salcedo led South Gate with 10 points and a pair of three-pointers. University is scheduled to play Mission Viejo at Foothill at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday as part of the Feast Week event.
