Two Crean Lutheran High School baseball players, both juniors, have made college commitments, Saints head coach Jake Haney said Wednesday.
Jack O’Malley, a right-handed pitcher, has committed to Bucknell University.
“He has a big arm, he threw up to 91 (MPH) in the fall last year but was hurt and didn’t play the whole season,” Haney said.
Bryan Fernandez, another right-handed pitcher, has committed to Lewis and Clark Colllege.
“He had a great season for us last year as our primary reliever,” Haney said. “He had a 1-0 record in 22 innings with 25 strikeouts.”
Haney said next year’s team has lots of talent and he expects several additional commitments in the coming months.
