Tesoro’s boys basketball team, coming off winning the championship at the So Cal Elite Gary Raya Classic, hosts the 20th annual Orange County North/South Challenge Friday, Dec. 21 and Saturday, Dec. 22.
Sixth-ranked Cypress (which won the Bellflower tournament for the second year in a row), seventh-ranked Tesoro (8-1) and 10th-ranked Mission Viejo, according to the Orange County Register, are in the two-day event.
Tesoro plays on the second day of the event on Saturday, against Newport Harbor at 6:30 p.m.
“We have our hands full with Newport Harbor,” said Tesoro Coach Steve Garrett. “They’re really good.”
