Tesoro, Yorba Linda, Godinez, San Juan Hills and Pacifica Christian capture victories

Tesoro’s boys basketball team improved its record to 5-1 with a 63-49 victory over Clovis Tuesday night in Fresno.

Tesoro jumped out to a 30-13 lead in the second quarter and led 38-22 at halftime. Matt DeAngelo, Kaden Garrett and Mike Mahlen had 15 points each and Kyle Ritscher had 14 points for the Titans.

Yorba Linda 58, Valencia 38: Yorba Linda was led by Cory Knutson, who scored 15 points. Connor Platt had nine points and Luke Ishikawa had eight points for the Mustangs. Michael Palacios scored 11 points to lead Valencia.

Godinez 46, Saddleback 19: Joseph Lopez led Godinez (2-0) with 13 points. Roger Aquino added 11 points for the Grizzlies.

Pacifica Christian 87, Notre Dame Riverside 50: Houston Mallette scored 28 points, Judah Brown scored 15 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and had seven assists and Josh Sims scored 10 points to lead Pacifica Christian to the victory at the San Juan Hills Tournament.

San Juan Hills 60, Hacienda Heights Wilson 47: San Juan Hills was led by Weingard with 17 points and Kitaen with 12 points who helped the Stallions post a victory in their own tournament.

Palm Springs 42, Century 34: Eduardo Sorto scored 10 points and Rodrigo Ramirez added nine points to lead Century. Tyler Thomas had six points for Century.

San Clemente 60, Portola 58: Berk Harris led San Clemente with 19 points and three 3-pointers. Matthew Herrod had 11 points and Max Rumph scored nine points. Portola, playing its home opener, was led by Robert Giraldy, who had 20 points and four 3-pointers.

Mohsen Hashemi added 16 points and Saif Habibeh had 11 points for Portola.
