Santa Ana High School is hosting the Luis Macias Varsity Boys Basketball Tournament this week featuring two pools of five teams each.
The tournament is named after long-time Santa Ana High equipment manager Luis Macias, who is working this week’s event, according to Saints Coach Fareed ElMasry.
Teams in pool one are Santa Ana, El Modena, Dana Hills, Godinez and La Quinta. Tustin, Santa Ana Valley, Bolsa Grande, Calvary Chapel and Westminster are in pool two.
The tournament opened Monday with three games. El Modena defeated Godinez 56-29 in one game.
SCHEDULE:
Tuesday, Nov. 16: Tustin vs. Bolsa Grande, 3:10 p.m.; Santa Ana Valley vs. Dana Hills, 4:30 p.m.; Santa Ana vs. La Quinta, 5:50 p.m.
Wednesday, Nov. 17: La Quinta vs. El Modena, 3:10 p.m.; Godinez vs. Tustin, 4:30 p.m.; Westminster vs. Santa Ana, 5:50 p.m.
Thursday, Nov. 18: Bolsa Grande vs. Santa Ana Valley, 3:10 p.m.; Calvary Chapel vs. Westminster, 4:30 p.m.; Santa Ana vs. Dana Hills, 5:50 p.m.
Friday, Nov. 19: Tustin vs. Calvary Chapel, 3:10 p.m.; Dana Hills vs. El Modena, 4:30 p.m.; La Quinta vs. Godinez, 5:50 p.m.
The tournament wraps up with five games Saturday beginning at 8:10 a.m. The championship will be at 1:30 p.m. and the third place game at noon.
