Ocean View High School’s football team used a balanced running attack to capture a 14-7 non-league victory over Pioneer Thursday night in Whittier.
Six different ball carriers rushed for a combined 200 yards for Ocean View (4-2), according to Coach Daniel Hernandez.
Jayden Trujillo led the way with 13 carries for 78 yards and had a 28-yard catch. Gaige Prichard and Frankie Armenta had rushing touchdowns for the Seahawks and Prichard six carries for 26 yards and three catches for 27 yards. Armenta completed 7 of 10 passes for 95 yards.Â
On defense, Elijah Armenta forced a fumble and Armenta had an interception.
“I am extremely proud of the the effort and grit the team displayed in our game,” Hernandez said. “We have continued to improve each week and we are excited about the growth of the team.”Â
Ocean View plays at Garey of Pomona next Friday.
