Segerstrom’s football team geared up for its Big 4 showdown with Garden Grove Thursday by defeating Westminster 48-7 Friday night at Westminster.

“We had a couple big plays,” said Segerstrom Coach Joseph Tagaloa. “Angel Vega had a big touchdown run and completed touchdown passes to Tony Gomez and Iverson Fuiava. Tony Gomez also returned a kickoff for a touchdown.”
The defense was also solid, the coach said.
“Overall our defense played well with our defensive line leading the way and Andrew Schouw coming up with an interception,” Tagaloa said.
Segerstrom (8-1, 2-0) now prepares for Thursday’s big league matchup with Garden Grove (8-1, 2-0) for the league title.
The game is at 7 p.m. at Garden Grove.
