Many Orange County track and field athletes had outstanding days on Saturday in the CIF Finals at El Camino College and a number qualified for the Master’s Meet this weekend, which will be the qualifier for the state meet.

In the final team scores, Long Beach Poly was first with 82 points, followed by Upland with 46 in the Division 1 boys meet.
Ventura took first in the Division 2 boys meet with 43 1/2 points followed by second place Mater Dei with 39 points.
Irvine’s Jacob Haley, Northwood’s Justin Larson and Crean Lutheran’s Jack Johnson were among the CIF champions on the boys side Saturday.
In the Division 1 girls meet, Roosevelt was first with 58 points, edging Long Beach Poly with 56.
In the Division 2 girls event, Mission Viejo took first with 72 points. The Diablos were led by Morgan Calcagnie who took first in the 800 meter run in a time of 2:12.42.
Calabasas was second with 62. JW North was third and Woodbridge was fourth.
Woodbridge junior Madison Lyon was second in the Divison 2 triple jump with a mark of 38-11.75. It was a busy day for Lyon, who qualified in three of her four events for Masters: the triple jump, high jump and long jump.
Santa Margarita captured the Division 3 girls meet with 89 points.
Tessa Green of Santa Margarita was first in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12:18. Green also took first in the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.50.
Lauren Memoly of Santa Margarita took first in a time of 55.33 in the 400-meter dash.-
Santa Margarita also took first in the 4×100-meter relay in a time of 47.80. Members of the relay team were Oliva Guida, Lauren Memoly, Makenna Eddy and Green.
Santa Margarita also took first in the 4×400 relay in a time of 3:52.27. Members of the team were Sophia Morris, McKenna Bradley, Green and Memoly.
Orange Lutheran was second with 54. points.
Some other highlights involving Orange County athletes:
-Hanna Catsimanes of San Clemente took first in the girls 3,200 Division 1 run with a time of 10:35.01.
-Hanna Bevan of Trabuco Hills took second in the girls Division 1 high jump with a leap of 5-3.
-Morgan Flynn of Aliso Niguel took first in the girls Division 1 pole vault with a mark of 12-6.
-Emma Hadley of Canyon took first in the girls Division 2 1,600 meter run in a time of 4:55.81. Kelli Hines of Mission Viejo was second in 5:01.45.
-Carly Corsinita of Capistrano Valley was second in the girls Division 2 3,200 run in a time of 10:36.61.
-In the girls pole vault, Ella Cork of Orange Lutheran took first in the Division 3 pole vault with a mark of 10-6.
-Sophia Hartwell of Orange Lutheran took first in the Division 3 girls long jump with a mark of 18-10. Hartwell also took first in the Division 3 girls triple jump in 38.06 1/2.
-Emma Robbins of Esperanza took first in the Division 3 girls discus with a mark of 124.
-In the boys Division 1 pole vault, Skyler Magula of Marina took first with a mark of 15-06.
-Sean Rhyan of San Juan Hills was first in the boys Division 1 shot put with a mark of 59-05.
-Larson of Northwood took first in the boys Division 2 800-meter run with a school record time of 1:54.23.
-John Burns of Mission Viejo took first in the Division 2 300-meter hurdles in a time of 39.06.
-Mater Dei took first in the boys Division 2 4×100 meter relay in a time of 42.04. The relay team consisted of Patrick Michinock, Quincy Craig, Corbin Utley and Chad Lemons.
-Haley of Irvine took first in the Division 2 boys long jump with a mark of 22-8.
-Anthony Salazar of Mission Viejo took first in the boys Division 2 triple jump with a mark of 44-11 1/2.
-Aidan Elbettar of Newport Harbor took first in the Division 2 boys shot put with a mark of 58-11 and also captured the discus with a mark of 193-03.
-Peter Herold of JSerra won the Division 3 boys 1,600-meter run with a time of 4:10.52 and also captured the 3,200-meter run in a time of 9:12.07.
-Jeff Duensing of Esperanza took first in the Division 3 boys shot put with a mark of 64-4 1/2. He also won the discus throw with a mark of 190-09.
-Johnson of Crean Lutheran took first place in the Division 4 boys 110 hurdles with a time of 14.83. Johnson was also second in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 40.45.
-Nathan Soto of St. Margaret’s was first in the boys Division 4 pole vault with a mark of 14-00.
