Santa Ana’s starting five is introduced before the game with Costa Mesa.
Santa Ana High’s boys basketball team is preparing for its 5AA CIF playoff opener this week against Tarbut ‘V Torah, a private school from Irvine.
The game has been changed to Saturday at 8:30 p.m. at Santa Ana. It was originally scheduled for Friday night.
“We couldn’t play on Friday evening because of Shabbat and Thursday didn’t work out since Santa Ana High School is hosting a girls game Thursday night,” said TVT athletic director Brent Dohling on Tuesday afternoon.”Saturday night after Shabbat was the best option for both schools. The Santa Ana athletic director was great and understanding of our needs.”
It’s a big night on Friday for many Orange County teams, including Century, the Orange League champion. The Centurions (20-8) will host Estancia, the third place team from the Orange League in the 4A playoffs.
Costa Mesa, the Orange Coast League champion, will host Burroughs of Ridegcrest (16-10) in the 4AA playoffs.
