Saddleback’s football team won another thriller, capturing its second win in a row Thursday with a 30-27 victory over La Quinta at Garden Grove High.
First year coach Glenn Campbell is 2-0.
Giovanni Quiroz made a 20-yard field goal with nine seconds left to give the Roadrunners their second straight win, according to Saddleback AD Rob Thompson. Quarterback Alberto Jorge Marquez connected with Isiah Ramirez to get the Roadrunners in field goal position.
Saddleback got the ball back in the fourth quarter with a goal line stand, Thompson added.
Saddleback won its opener 20-19 over Century last week when Marquez connected on a 90-yard TD with Isaias Ramirez with under a minute remaining.
