Day three of the annual Ryan Lemmon Baseball Invitational wrapped up on Tuesday, April 1 at the Great Park.
The championship is Wednesday night featuring Woodbridge and San Dimas at 7 p.m. in the Great Park Stadium. Four teams had 3-0 records, but the first tie-breaker is runs allowed and Woodbridge and San Dimas had the least allowed runs.
Pacifica meets Villa Park in the third place game at 4 p.m. in the stadium.
Tuesday’s finals:
El Modena 3, Salem Hills 0, F
Woodbridge 9, Viewmont 0, F: Woodbridge (13-5 overall) won its third in a row in the tourney to earn a spot in the finals Wednesday vs. San Dimas. Dylan Mutuc pitched a complete game shutout, allowing six hits and striking out two. Nolan Stottlemyer was 3 for 4 with a run scored and two RBI, Nevan Namgoong was 1 for 3 with three runs scored and a stolen base, Vincent DeMarco was 1 for 1 with a run scored, two RBI and a walk and Vaughn Tase was 1 for 4 with a double and two RBI.
Northwood 4, Salem Hills 1, F: The Timberwolves got their first win in the tournament, snapping a six-game losing streak.
Pacifica 3, Yucaipa 2, F
Canyon 10, University 4, F
Villa Park 11, Fullerton 5: Sophomore Logan Hoppe earned the win. Ezra Ornelas was 2 for 4 with a triple and two RBI, Austin Park was 2 for 3 with two RBI, Jake Nobles was 1 for 3 with a double and three RBI, Nate Lewis had two RBI and Shawn Romero was 1 for 3 with two runs scored.
Foothill 2, Laguna Beach 0, F: Gavin Lauridsen pitched a complete game, allowing three hits and striking out eight for the Knights, who won their first game in the tournament. Evan Kim was 1 for 3 with a run scored, Adam Ujiie was 1 for 2 with a run scored, Evrett Rycroft was 1 for 1 with an RBI and Jason Gugino was 0 for 2 with an RBI. Foothill scored two runs in the fifth inning to win it.
San Dimas 2, Woodscross 0, F
Irvine 6, Crean Lutheran 2, F
