Boys basketball season is here and an early season tournament, The Rumble for Rosecrans Avenue, featuring a number of talented Orange County teams continues on Wednesday and runs through Saturday at Sunny Hills High School, Buena Park High School and Norwalk High School.
There are seven pools with three teams each.
In Tuesday’s 3 p.m. game Beckman defeated Warren 59-46. Dylan Thoerner led Beckman (2-0) with 25 points.

Monday’s scores:
Beckman 48, El Segundo 45:Â Â Thoerner led Beckman with 23 points and made 13 of 14 free throws. Shubh Khandhadia hit a big three-pointer as the shot clock expired to push the lead to four points with 20 seconds remaining. El Segundo hits a desperation 3-pointer with 4.5 seconds left to cut the lead to one point. Beckman inbounded the ball to Thoerner, who successfully who knocked down both free throws to extend the lead to three.
“It was a very challenging game,” said Beckman Coach John Goins. “El Segundo ran an extremely effective zone and their players were all long and disruptive. We had to fight for every bucket, but luckily our defense was solid and we were able to contain them just enough.”

At Norwalk: Warren vs. El Segundo, 3 p.m.; Foothill vs. Sonora, 4:30 p.m.; Kennedy vs. Esperanza, 6 p.m.; Norwalk vs. West Torrance, 7:30 p.m.
The schedule for the rest of the tournament will be based on how teams did in pool play.
