The OC team made headlines; here’s a look back at the top stories.
Placentia Punishers Bronco 12-and-under baseball all-stars accomplished their ultimate goal Monday night with an 11-4 victory over Kaohsiung, Taiwan in the championship game of the Bronco League World Series in Loredo, Texas.
Coach Brandon Smith’s team went 4-1 in the international series, which included teams from the United States, Mexico, the Dominican Republic and Taiwan.
The team went through through post season play earning the number two seed at the regional in Irvine, then took championships at the super regional and zone tournaments to earn a berth in the Bronco League World Series.
The team also had an 11-game winning streak in post-season play and finished the Bronco Series with two convincing victories.
The team’s other coaches were Stephen Churney and Buddy Klovstad.
