It was the first appearance for Woodbridge in the state final and a large crowd of Woodbrige fans supported the team, which two weeks earlier won the CIF Division 13 Southern Section championship.
The day started with an escort from the local police and fire departments down Culver Boulevard.
First year coach Connor McBride said he was proud of his team, which finished 7-9.
“They’ve done something that no one {from Woodbridge} has ever done and they’re still CIF Southern Section champs,” McBride said after the game. “That’s the amazing part about it.
“It was so special, I looked up into the crowd and I was tearing up because it was the community that was so excited for us to be here, the outreach in the community has been spectacular.”
