Huss’s scores were testimony to his two-way playing ability, first returning an interception 30 yards for a score, then rushing 41 yards for another. Kyden Ordonez scored Troy’s final TD of the first half on an 8-yard run.
Troy substituted liberally throughout the game and with the second-half being played with a running clock, and the Warriors punting in every fourth down situation, the game’s final score came with four minutes to play in the fourth quarter when Hayden Sanchez pulled the ball from the arms of a Colonist receiver and returned the interrception 38 yards to the end zone.
Friday, Troy (2-0) is at Irvine. The Colonists (0-1) play Rancho Alamitos at Glover Field in Anaheim.
