Segerstrom’s boys basketball team, after trailing by double digits at halftime, battled back in the second half to cut the lead to three points but lost to Rialto 67-55 in the second round of the CIF Division 7 playoffs Friday at Segerstrom.

Segerstrom (19-10) was the Orange Coast League champion. Coach Rex Gonzales’ team won its CIF playoff opener, defeating Estancia 52-42.

Rialto (14-14) moves on to the quarterfinals Tuesday to face Rosemead (19-11).
