Segerstrom High School’s boys basketball team opened Golden West League play Friday night with a 61-57 victory over Westminster at Segerstrom.

The Jaguars (6-10, 1-0) were led by Shawn Murray, who had 14 points, Chris Negrete who scored 12 points and Isiah Velasquez, who had 14 points.
“The boys played hard tonight,” said Segerstrom Coach Eddie Andrade. “Westminster played us tough and we could never pull away. It’s nice to get the first league win.”
