Segerstrom High School’s softball team won its second game in the CIF Division 4 playoffs, defeating Newport Harbor 4-3 Saturday in a second round game at Segerstrom.
The fourth-seeded Jaguars (21-2) move on to the quarterfinals Tuesday at Sunny Hills.

Segerstrom was led by Aidee Mendoza who was 3 for 4 with two runs scored and Rebeca Cabezas who was 3 for 3 with three RBI.
Cabezas (17-1) recorded the victory on the mound, allowing two hits.
It’s been quite a season for Segerstrom,, which captured its seventh Golden West League title.
“This is our first time advancing to the CIF quarterfinals,” said Segerstrom Coach Yvonne Alonzo. “So proud of the Jaguar softball program.”
Segerstrom opened the playoffs with a 24-0 victory over Banning.
