Saddleback High School’s boys basketball team, seeded fourth in Division 5A, defeated Legacy Prep 78-35 Wednesday night in the opening round of the CIF playoffs at Saddleback.

Saddleback (12-13) was led by Christopher Trotter (24 points) and Angel Soberinas (21 points). It was the first time in more than 10 years Saddleback has been to the CIF playoffs.
The Roadrunners move on to the second round Friday night at Acaciawood Academy (10-6). Acaciawood Academy defeated Joshua Springs 60-18 Wednesday night.
