Marina High’s football team had plenty to celebrate Friday night after capturing the outright Big Four League title with a 41-7 victory over Segerstrom.
The visiting Vikings defended their league title and finished the abbreviated spring season 5-1 overall and 3-0 in league play while Segerstrom finished 2-1. Marina won the CIF Division 11 title in 2019, but there were no CIF playoffs this year after the abbreviatedd spring schedule.

Marina led from the start and was led by quarterback Jack Miller, who threw threw touchdown passes. Brantt Riederich had a solid game as well with touchdown runs of 8 and 70 yards. His first touchdown gave the Vikings a lead they never relinquished.
Dane Brenton hauled in two touchdown catches and Gavin Dykema one. Luke Lastra capped the night with a 66-yard kickoff return for Marina.
Marina led 14-0 at halftime and 28-0 after three quarters.
Allan Serrano had an 86-yard kick-off return in the fourth quarter for Segerstrom.
