Crean Lutheran’s boys basketball team is headed to the second round of the CIF Southern California Regional Division I playoffs to host No. 7-seeded La Costa Canyon Thursday at 6 p.m.
The Saints (23-6) rallied Tuesday night at home to defeat Cathederal Catholic 63-60 in the opening round.
The second-seeded Saints rallied from a six-point halftime deficit to win at Crean Lutheran. Parker Tuttle scored 19 points, Vyctorius Miller 17 points and Darrell Morris 16 points to lead Crean Lutheran.
The winner of Thursday’s game moves on to the regional semifinals Saturday against the winner of the game between No. 11 St. Anthony and No. 3 Notre Dame Sherman Oaks. If Crean Lutheran wins, the game would once again be played at Crean Lutheran, Saturday at 6 p.m.
