Orange High School senior guard Chris Abraham became the program’s all-time leading scorer Monday night during the Panthers 63-23 victory over Firebaugh of Lynwood.
The 6-0 Abraham has 1,289 career points during his four years with the varsity, including a 35-point effort Monday night.
“It was a special night for Chris,” said Orange Coach Jordan Castaneda. “Coming into this season this was one of his individual goal. As as our lone returner and only player with varsity experience, he has responded by averaging 27.3 points per game to lead us to a 9-3 record currently.
“Chris is also on pace to break the school’s all-time career 3-point record, single season 3- point record and single season points record as well by the end of the season.
“Chris is extremely humble and a pleasure to coach, as well as a great student. He will go down as one of the best players to ever put on an Orange High uniform, and it’s been an honor to be his coach through his whole high school career.”
