RANCHO ALAMITOS 7, GODINEZ 0: Senior Henry Garcia opened the season for the Vaqueros pitching a complete game shutout. He allowed just one hit and had 16 strikeouts.
FULLERTON 7, LAGUNA BEACH 3: The Tribe battled back for a victory after trailing 7-3. Calin Williams was 2 for 4 with two runs scored and two RBI and Mason Park 1 for 4 with a home run. Evan Terrazas pitched 2 2/3 innings striking out four and allowing no runs.
COSTA MESA 3, BISHOP AMAT 0: The Mustangs (2-0) got a strong pitching effort from Felix Tiquia, who pitched five innings allowing three hits and striking out five. Wylan Rottschafer earned the save, pitching two innings, allowing one hit and striking out three. Rottschafter was 2 for 3 at the plate with two runs runs scored and a home run. Ben Quintero was 2 for 3 with an RBI and Grady Jackson 1 for 3 with a run scored and a double.
SERVITE 8, LOYOLA 1: The Friars (2-1) were led by winning pitcher Shane Wendler, who pitched four innings, allowing two hits and striking out two. John Sullivan had a grand slam for Servite, Michael Cabral had two RBI and Kane Clark one RBI.
PACIFICA CHRISTIAN 4, OCEAN VIEW 3: Rowan Gale was 2 for 3 with a double and a triple, John Peterson 2 for 2 with two RBI and a double, Blake Hayes 2 for 4 and Luke Miller 3 for 4. Jon Stone pitched three innings and had four strikeouts and Josiah Miller pitched four innings, striking out two. Pacifica Christian (2-0) hosts Costa Mesa Friday at 2 p.m. at Orange Coast College.
CYPRESS 8, WEST RANCH 2: Tate Belfanti, who pitched four scoreless innings striking out 10, earned the swin and Ben Martinez the save. Hibiki Suzuki was 2 for 3 with a double, run scored and four RBI, Tyler Velarde was 1 for 1 with two RBI, Gary Hennessy 1 for 3 with a run scored and an RBI and Landon Anderson 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI.
