OCEAN VIEW 8, KATELLA: The Seahawks (15-6, 5-0) inched closer to the Golden West League title. Brandon Wood pitched five strong innings and Mulavi Levu continued his torrid hitting with a two run home run.
TRABUCO HILLS 3, SAN CLEMENTE 1: It was a big day for the Mustangs Mason Molina, who hit a home run and struck out 16 on the mound for Trabuco Hills (16-5, 5-1).
FOOTHILL 3, CANYON: The Knights (19-3, 1-0) were led by Aiden Taurek, who threw a four-hit shutout to improve his record to 7-1. He did not walk a batter and struck out five. Taurek was 3 for 3 with a run scored, two doubles and an RBI. Austin Overn was 2 for 3 with an RBI, Brady Ashworth was 1 for 3 with a double and a run scored and Luke Sampson had a walk and a sacrifice fly. The teams play again Friday at Canyon.
VILLA PARK 3, EL DORADO 1: Isaac Ontiveros (7-1) recorded the win with a complete game. He allowed five hits and struck out six. Brandon Luu was 2 for 3 with a home run and two RBI, Zach Brown was 1 for 2 with an RBI and Aaron Perez was 2 for 4 for the Spartans (18-4, 1-0).
LA HABRA 4, TROY 0: The Highlanders were led by Josh Castillo, who threw a complete game shutout. La Habra (14-9, 7-4) was led by Matt Flores, who was 2 for 2 with two clutch two out RBI and Jesse Flores, who was outstanding on defense.
SEGERSTROM 8, WESTMINSTER 2: The Jaguars captured a Golden West League victory at Segerstrom. Bruno Banuelos pitched six solid innings, Jorge Velasquez was 3 for 4 and Nick Padilla had a home run for Segerstrom (10-11, 3-2).
