Ocean View High School’s football team recorded its second straight win to start the season, defeating Anaheim 22-7 Thursday night in Anaheim.
“Overall the team played well and we are proud of their effort on the field but for the team to continue to improve we need to clean some stuff up,” said Seahawks Coach Daniel Hernandez. “Anaheim is a well coached team and they played us extremely tough.”Â
Quarterback Frankie Armenta completed 7 of 17 passes for 269 yards and two touchdowns to lead the offense. He also had two touchdowns and three carries for 19 yards rushing.
Armenta also had nine tackles and two pass break-ups on defense.
Oswaldo Lozano had five catches for 234 yards and touchdown catches for 90 and 75 yards for Ocean View.
Ivan Ortiz kicked a 38-yard field goal for the Seahawks.
Jayden Trujillo had 2 1/2 sacks and 11 tackles and Gaige Prichard eight tackles for Ocean View.
Ocean View plays at Gahr Friday night. Anaheim (0-2) plays at Westminster Friday, Sept. 8.
