As we approach the end of our third month at OC Sports Zone, we’re always looking for ways we can better serve our loyal readers and supportive advertisers.
One of our goals was to improve our mobile site, to make it cleaner and more visually appealing because we are aware that so many of you get your news on your mobile devices. We believe we have some improvements in store that both our mobile and desktop readers will enjoy.
We want to emphasize our site will remain free to our readers and the features you have come to enjoy (like the score ticker) will remain along with some new ones. We are extremely grateful to our initial advertisers and we encourage others to invest in their communities and advertise on OC Sports Zone. We still have very reasonable introductory rates and our sales director Gabriel Calderon can help you with a deal that you can afford and one that can help your business grow.
If you take out an ad, you are supporting independent community journalism and the communities in Orange County we serve. Gabriel can be reached at: gabriel@ocsportszone.com
We started out in July covering schools in Irvine and we have now extended our coverage into other cities, including Santa Ana, Garden Grove, Orange, Huntington Beach, Fountain Valley, Laguna Hills, Mission Viejo and Newport Beach. We welcome school representatives to submit stories and pictures we can share with our readers by email. Please send to Editor Tim Burt: timburt@ocsportszone.com
In order to introduce this new look on the web site, we will need to shut down our site all day Sunday, Oct. 7. Our goal is to have the new look up and running by Monday. We will keep you posted through social media.
As always, we welcome your story ideas and your feedback on how we can be better. We appreciate the tremendous response we have received from so many in just a short time. It has been very heartwarming and satisfying for all of us.
OC Sports Zone would like to serve Orange County for many years to come and with the help of our readers and advertisers we can provide continued quality coverage.
Sincerely, the OC Sports Zone team
