Northwood High School’s football team improved its record to 4-0 with a hard-fought 14-7 non-league victory over Woodbridge Friday night at University.
The teams were tied 7-7 at halftime before Northwood took the lead. Joseph Harper scored both touchdowns for Northwood, according to Coach JC Clarke.
“He also led the team in tackles,” Clarke said. “We had 13 tackles for a loss and two sacks. Jacob Harper was great on both sides of the ball. Eddie Petrusian was good on both sides of the ball.”
Woodbridge (1-3) scored when back-up quarterback Aydrien Garnica connected with Jeremy Harris on a 38-yard TD pass.
Woodbridge was again without injured QB Caden Jones, who is out injured. Warrior Coach Aaron Craver said he is not sure when Jones will be able to return.
Woodbridge plays Beckman Thursday at Tustin while Northwood plays at Portola Friday night.
