Newport Harbor’s boys basketball team won a thriller Friday night, defeating El Toro 61-58 in the semifinals of the Century Elks Tournament Friday night at Century.

Levi Darrow hit the game-winning basket with four seconds left to lift the Sailors (17-1). Dayne Chalmers led Newport Harbor to its 13th straight victory with 22 points.
Newport Harbor will face Sunny Hills in the championship Saturday night at 7:30.
“El Toro is very good, they battled, their guards are real tough and they can make shots and when you make shots like they do, you’re never out of the game,” said Newport Coach Robert Torribio. “We got great leaders and great kids and they love to play the whole 32 minutes. They just keep battling.”
