La Habra’s boys basketball team capped another special week, defeating Boulder City, Nev. 67-55 in the championship game of the Orange Holiday Classic Saturday night at Orange.
Cam Dashiell scored 22 points and had six assists and six steals to lead the Highlanders (16-2). Sam Howlin had 19 points, 20 rebounds and eight blocks and Christian Salazar had 19 points and five 3-pointers.
Boulder City fell to 11-3.
“Down two starters tonight, we needed someone to step up and play big,” said Coach Aaron Riekenberg. “That guy was Christian Salazar tonight. Cam and Sam did what they do and Christian hit some big shots for us off the bench. Boulder City is a great squad, so I’m happy with the way my boys played tonight.”
Howlin and Christian Salazar were named to the all-tournament team and Dashiell was named the tourney MVP.
