Senior Cooper Stearns scored 24 points and grabbed 20 rebounds to lead Irvine High School’s boys basketball team to a 60-42 non-league victory over Laguna Hills Friday night at Irvine.
Stearns is headed to Stanford University on a golf scholarship next year.
Ali Dal had nine points and two steals and Holden Stearns and Taewon Kim added eight points each for Irvine (11-2).
Jackson Shaffer displayed outstanding defense with three steals.
Irvine meets Tesoro Saturday at 4:30 p.m. in the North-South Challenge at Tesoro.
