Irvine High School senior Lauren Lai crossed the 1,000 point mark for her career Tuesday night in a 50-42 Pacific Hills League loss to Laguna Beach Tuesday night, according to Vaqueros coach Sam Davis.
Lai is averaging 11 points a game for Irvine (11-9, 1-1). The Vaqueros are in second place in the league behind league-leading Laguna Beach.
“She’s quietly had a great four-year career,” Davis said. “Lauren helped Irvine win the school’s first league title two years ago. She’s a good person and hard worker on and off the court.”
