Crean Lutheran’s girls softball team had a 6-5 record when the spring sports season was cancelled around the state.
“Although our season was cut short, we feel incredibly blessed to have gotten 11 games and many practices in,” said Coach Remeny Perez. “If I had to describe our team in one word for this season it would be family. Our team knew how to pick each other up and carry onward. They say to ‘always play every game like it’s your last’ and I believe our team really took that to heart to accomplish that. Coach Laura and I are so proud of our senior leadership to carry out traditions for years to come and we look forward to the days when we can get back on the field together.”
Coach Perez also talked about the seniors:
McKinley Neubauer: “Mick has been a divine example of great senior leadership for our program. She has excelled at leading our team prayers, guiding our newcomers, and stepping up to every occasion on the field as a player. She’s an incredibly gifted athlete and an even better person. It has been an honor to coach her and I look forward to all of her future successes as she plans to attend the University of Colorado, Boulder.”
Hailee Daniel: “Hailee was with us for a very short amount of time due to the great things she was doing with the Saints basketball program at CIF and state (playoffs). However, even with the little time she was with us, we were so grateful for her tenacity and grit to achieve greatness.”
