Godinez High’s boys soccer team celebrated after capturing its second consecutive Golden West League title.
The Grizzlies (16-1-3, 8-0-2) are coached by Ruben Fernandez, who has led Godinez to eight league championships, two CIF titles and one state crown.
The top players have included senior forward Josue Martinez, who has 19 goals; senior midfielder/forward David Jimenez, who has nine goals and five assists; junior forward Ivan Lopez, who has eight goals and nine assists and goalkeeper Gabriel Contreras, who has 49 saves.
The Grizzlies open the CIF playoffs next week.
