Foothill High School’s boys basketball team captured the championship of the Torrey Pines Holiday Classic Senator division defeating Mater Dei Catholic of Chula Vista 65-59 Friday night.
Travis Paleo scored 26 points and was named the tournament MVP. Danny Kennard had 12 points and 11 rebounds and Isaiah Bernard had 11 points, four rebounds and six assists to lead the Knights, coached by Yousof Etemadi.
Foothill (15-1) has won 10 games in a row. It’s the second year in a row that Foothill has won the tournament, according to Etemadi, who said on Twitter late Friday, “proud of this young group. Back to back champs.”
