Five OC football teams earn berths in CIF Regional Bowl Game Championships

Five Orange County high school football eams that brought home CIF Southern Section championships received berths in the 2025 CIF Regional Football Championship Bowl Games.

Games are scheduled for Friday and Saturday, with the winners advancing to the state finals in their divisions the following weekend.

Carson Palmer’s Santa Margarita team, the Division 1 champion will face De La Salle (12-0) in the state open division final on Saturday, Dec. 13 at 8 p.m. at Saddleback College.

In 1-AA, Division 2 champion Los Alamitos (12-2) meets Cathedral Catholic (10-2) Fri., Dec. 5 at 7:30 p.m. at Veterans Stadium on the campus of Long Beach City College.

In Division 2-AA, Division 4 champion La Habra (11-3) is on the road to face Bakersfield Christian (12-0) Friday at 7:30 p.m. The Highlanders brought home their eighth CIF title Saturday night defeating San Jacinto 27-13.

In Division 4-A Division 8 champion Beckman of Irvine (9-4) hosts Hillcrest, Riverside (8-5) Saturday at 6 p.m. at Tustin.

In Division 7-AA, Division 13 champion Woodbridge (6-8)) hosts San Fernando (11-3) Friday at 7:30 p.m. at University in Irvine.

Two of the teams that brought home CIF titles are from Irvine: Beckman (part of the Tustin Unified School District) and Woodbridge. Both are continuing in the regional bowl championships.

The state finals will be held at Saddleback College, Fullerton and Buena Park in two weekends.
