Estancia High School’s girls flag football team opened the season Wednesday night with a 31-6 victory over Western, according to Eagles coach Nate Goellrich.
Estancia held a 13-6 lead at halftime and outscored Western 18-0 in the second half.
Quarterback Jaydin McClure led the way for Estancia completing 8 of 16 passes for 101 yards and three touchdowns.
Leading rushers were Aisleen Avalos with 43 yards on four carries and Jaydin McClure with 52 yards on three carries.
The top Eagles receivers were Poloma Vallero, who had 34 yards on two catches with a touchdown, Aisleen Avalos, who had 33 yards on three catches and a touchdown and Crystal Rodriguez, who had 44 yards on four catches with a touchdown.
Aisleen Avalos and Peyton Thomas each had an interception for a touchdown. Crystal Rodriguez and Kendy Osorio each had interceptions.
Estancia hosts Garden Grove on Thursday at 6:30 pm in Jim Scott Stadium.
