Estancia High School’s girls flag football team improved its record to 5-3 and 2-0 in league with a 27-14 victory over Bolsa Grande Wednesday.
The Eagles were led by quarterback Jaydin McClure, who completed 16 of 26 with 157 yards for three touchdowns.
Aisleen Avalos had 12 catches for 85 yards and a touchdown, Paloma Silva had a TD reception for 15 yards and Peyton Thomas recorded a TD catch for seven yards.
Crystal Rodriguez had an interception returned for a touchdown, according to Coach Nate Goellrich.
Earlier in the week, the Eagles lost to Rancho Alamitos 6-0. Rancho Alamitos won the game with a TD in the final 20 seconds, Goellrich said.
Avalos had six catches for 40 yards and Kate Jennis three catches for 44 yards. On defense, Thomas had an interception.
