Estancia’s baseball team wrapped up the outright Orange Coast League title, defeating Saddleback 18-1 Wednesday afternoon at Estancia.
It’s the first league title for the Eagles since 2010. Estancia (15-11, 10-5) competes in the CIF Division 5 playoffs next week.
“I’m really happy for our players and coaches,” said second-year Coach Kevin Conlin.
Garrett Palme and Justin Wood each hit home runs and Dillon Manchester was the winning pitcher.
“Our seniors really stepped up and I am really happy for the kids, the boosters and for the entire school and athletic department” Conlin said.
“The kids really hung in there when things could have gone South. We finished winning five out of the last six and we beat some very talented teams.”
Palme was 3 for 4 with four RBI and a home run and Wood was 2 for 4 with five RBI including a home run for Estancia.
