CYPRESS 59, PACIFICA 35: The Centurions notched an Empire League victory Tuesday night in what was their first league game of the season.
“It was great to be back on the court with the guys again,” said Cypress Coach Derek Mitchell. “We were able to get guys minutes who needed some game experience due to protocols. I’m very proud of the way we came out and competed today.
“We haven’t been able to have a full practice for over three weeks, so our guys stepped up big time.”
Cypress (9-9 overall) was led by Jonah Kim, who had 18 points, Dylan Higa, who had nine points and Devon Washington and Evan Huckabee, who had eight points each.
Pacifica (12-5, 0-2) was led by Noah Salas with 11 points and Shaun Fabisiak, who had nine points and 3 of 3 three-pointers.
EL DORADO 65, EL MODENA 44: The Golden Hawks (17-4) were led by Cooper Bladow, who scored 19 points; Hudson Novak, who had 11 points; Ty Carlson, who had nine points and Austin Kirkwood, who had eight points.
VILLA PARK 74, YORBA LINDA 55: The Spartans (13-4) were led by Dominic Parker, who had 21 points; Joaquin Strong, who had 17 points and Vincent Albertini, who had 12 points. Yorba Linda (10-11) was led by Andrew DeZeeuw with 12 points and Jason Cassachia with 11 points.
LOARA 62, LOS AMIGOS 32: The Saxons recorded a Garden Grove League victory Monday night. Loara (7-12, 1-1) was led by senior forward Elias Farhat who had 19 points and nine rebounds. Andrew Romero had14 points and rebounds.
DJ Jelke had 13 points for Los Amigos, making four 3-pointers.
Loara plays at Rancho Alamitos Wednesday night at 6 p.m.
